Maya Shimizu Harris is an artist and staff reporter for WyoFile, a nonprofit news publication. She was formerly the state politics reporter for Wyoming’s legacy newspaper, the Casper Star-Tribune. Her journalism has been recognized with first place awards from the Wyoming Press Association and the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists’ Top of the Rockies competition. Originally from northern California, she is now based in Laramie, Wyoming.
